A certain lawyer asks the question, "who is my neighbor?" Jesus answers with a parable, commonly called, "The Good Samaritan." What is the message of this lesson?
Have you wondered how a righteous God can forgive sinful man? The answer is in Hebrews chapter ten. This is from a study of a difficult saying in Hebrews 10:26 “no more sacrifice.”
Jesus provides six signs to John the Baptist's disciples: Blind see, Lame walk, Lepers are cleansed, Deaf hear, Dead are raised and the Gospel is preached to the poor. Why not raise the dead? Why a wedding?
Why Miracles? - The deaf hear is the fourth of six signs that Jesus is the Messiah, the expected one. Unlike the first three (blind, lame, and leper), the deaf are not prohibited from entrance to the temple. They represent Israel who are willfully deaf, ignoring the words and works of God.
From the series: Why Miracles. We continue through the sign miracles: God tell John the things that you have seen and heard. This third sign is the cleansing of lepers.
